About Healthcare Fiji
Early in 2001, a group of former Fiji residents currently living in
Sydney and members of the Australian community established a charitable organisation to raise funds to assist in addressing the escalating problem of chronic renal failure in Fiji. Specifically, the provision of dialysis facilities in Fiji to treat those suffering from renal kidney failure.
On 30th July 2002 Healthcare Fiji Association was incorporated as an association under the Australian Associations Incorporation Act 1984, and on 23rd September 2002, was granted an Authority to Fundraise for Charitable Purposes under the Australian Charitable Fundraising Act 1991.
HFAI is currently run by a Committee which comprises Mr Stan Ritova as Chairman, Mr Anil Singh, Ms Ellen Knight, Ms Melisha Whippy, Ms Tamsy Simpson-Griffen, Ms Shirley Heffernan, Mrs Lily Rae and Mr Alex Wendt, who meet at least once a month.
