Fiji has the third highest rate per capita of diabetes in the world. With the cost of having dialysis overseas being out of reach for the majority of these patients, their choice is limited: dialysis or die. Consequently more than 95% of kidney patients die from kidney failure because of the lack of access to dialysis and support programs.
